In Elden Ring, the introduction of the Ashes of War is certainly a welcome one. It adds richness to the already-rich gameplay and gives the game’s combat more depth. For example, the Hoarfrost Stomp allows any melee weapon to create a decent AoE ice field that explodes, dealing massive damage in the process. It also adds more passive effects to the weapon on which it is equipped.

How to get Hoarfrost Stomp In Elden Ring

Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War is located north of Liurnia of the Lakes, in a small lake east of Caria Manor. To get it, players should travel to the Main Caria Manor Gate Site of Lost Grace (it’s the nearest Bonfire) and then head east until they come across the only lake available in this area.

Upon reaching the lake, players will notice frozen footsteps roaming on top of its water.

These footsteps belong to an invisible Teardrop Scarab. Players will need to follow them and try to memorize their patterns, then try to land a strike on the moving target.

Upon landing a hit on the Teardrop Scarab, players will finally get the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War.

Hoarfrost Stomp Ash Of War In Elden Ring

Hoarfrost Stomp is one of the best Ashes of War available in Elden Ring. The skill is quick to use, deals massive AOE damage, and builds Frostbite on enemies that have flesh. Players should be warned though, the skill can be pretty buggy sometimes. Occasionally, nothing will happen when players stomp the ground, even if the FP requirement was met.

Hoarfrost Stomp Ash Of War can be equipped on all melee weapons in Elden Ring. When infusing it with weapons, if players choose to scale these weapons with intelligence, they will inflict Physical and Magic damage while also building up Frostbite on enemies.

Once an enemy’s Frostbite meter is full, they will be decently damaged, and, for a period of time, they’ll lose 20% of their damage observation, giving tarnished a window to be aggressive.

The Hoarfrost Stomp is part of the Cold Ashes of War. Other abilities from this group include Chilling Mist and Ice Spear. Similar to Hoarfrost Stomp, Chilling Mist is also dropped by Teardrop Scarab. However, this one is obtainable south of Renna’s Rise, around the ruins. Meanwhile, Ice Spear is dropped by a Night’s Cavalry boss. Players can find this enemy patrolling near the broken Gate Town Bridge.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
