Bleed builds are some of the strongest builds in Elden Ring right now, and there are a couple of weapons of each type that are perfect for stacking blood loss. One of the best Bleed Greatswords is the Flamberge, a long, undulating blade with a high capacity for blood loss.

Where To Find the Flamberge in Elden Ring

Players looking to create a perfect Elden Ring Bleed build with the Flamberge will need to make their way to Caelid, the Scarlet Rot-infested region in the southeast corner of the Lands Between.

The Flamberge once belonged to Witch-Hunter Jerren, an NPC who inhabits Redmane Castle, and can be found in the same location. Fortunately, players won’t need to defeat Jerren to gain the sword, though it will only be available if the General Radahn-slaying festival that Jerren hosts hasn’t begun or is finished.

Once players have defeated Radahn, or before they enter the festival area, they can find the Flamberge on the southeast rampart. This area is accessible by climbing the stairs to the east of the teleporter entry point, then entering the tower and taking the ladder up. The Flamberge can be found on a dead body, guarded by a Pumpkin-Head enemy.

Elden Ring Flamberge Breakdown

The Flamberge is the perfect early choice for players that are focusing on Bleed and also like the weight and damage of a greatsword. Its location makes it quite easy to find in the early-to-mid game, allowing players to get a head start on their ideal Elden Ring build.

Damage type: Standard/Pierce Default Ash of War: Stamp (Upward Cut) - A 5/8 FP cost attack that first blocks an incoming blow, then counters with a powerful upward sweep. Weight: 10. 0 Attributes Required: Str 15, Dex 14 Attribute Scaling: Str D, Dex D (B) Attack Power: Physical 129, Critical 100 Guarded Damage Negation: Physical: 65 Magic: 35 Fire: 35 Lightning: 35 Holy: 35 Guard Boost: 42 Passive Effects: Blood loss buildup (55) Upgrade Material: Smithing Stones

As a normal-type weapon, the Flamberge can be infused with Elden Ring’s Ashes of War abilities, changing its damage, scaling, and unique power.

One of the best choices for the Flamberge is the Blood infusion, which will add almost twice as much blood loss buildup to each swing.

Elden Ring is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
