However, Chabo has amnesia. It wakes up to find itself confronted by Marigold the faerie and Robin the elf. They are hesitant to help it out but as Chabo seems harmless due to its amnesia, they take pity and help out. Now Chabo is tasked with rebuilding the island of Egglia, one egg at a time. How can Chabo and its friends do this? Here are some tips to get off to a good start in Egglia Rebirth.

7 Turn On High Speed Mode

The battle speed in Egglia Rebirth is not that bad. However, there is a way to make things go quicker. Before starting any battles, go into the options and select High Speed Mode. This will increase battle turn movements by 50%.

The game could use some more improvements in this department. A skip button would be useful along with a fast-forward button. Maybe those features will come in future patches. After all, other RPGs of this nature tend to at least have fast-forwarding capabilities. For now, players should be satisfied with High Speed Mode.

6 Time Passes In Real-Time

It’s hard to tell how time will pass in a video game. If the player pauses the action, is that going to add to the overall playtime? What if players go into the home screen dashboard of their console of choice? That’s why knowing how time passes in Egglia Rebirth will be beneficial for players.

There are various cooldowns players will have to keep track of their in the game. They can plant crops or grow gems for example. These things can’t be harvested until the timer is done. The best piece of advice is to always plant, or bury something before bed. That way these materials should be ready to pluck upon jumping back into Egglia Rebirth.

5 Focus On Leveling Yourself

Chabo is the only main playable character in the game. Players can still take along friends while exploring. They won’t help out in battle but they can passively find more materials. There are also Spirits. They are like Summons from the Final Fantasy series that players can equip.

Spirits can cast magic at enemies such as fireballs or healing magic on the player. Partners and Spirits can level up. It’s important to do so, but players should focus more on leveling up Chabo first. Chabo, again, is the only playable character which means it has to be the strongest of this RPG group. A party is only as strong as its leader.

4 Destroy Monster Nests ASAP

When battles begin, some monsters will already be placed on a map. Others will join in via monster nests. These should be the first target. Avoid gathering materials or fighting small fry enemies. It is beneficial to take out monster nests first so that players can’t get overwhelmed by numbers.

This is like RPGs 101. Any sort of enemy that can either spawn new enemies or heal existing ones should be terminated right away. Nothing is more frustrating in an RPG than to be a few HP away from defeating an enemy only to have that enemy get fully healed. Don’t let that happen in Egglia Rebirth.

3 Heal In-Between Rounds

As players explore, attack, and defend, they will gain magical points. This is standard for many RPGs. These points allow players to use their Spirits’ magic. It’s a good idea to use magic sparingly. For example, if players see a tough enemy up ahead that they know will destroy them, send a magical projectile their way.

If a monster nest is within range, use magic for that as well. Most importantly players should heal before moving on to the next battle. Do this only if all monsters are destroyed on the map. It would be pointless to heal at the end only to get hit again.

2 Don’t Worry About Dialogue Choices

The game has a lot of text in it. Most of it can’t be skipped either which may cause some frustration for players. Like it or not, there is one thing players should take note of about dialogue. The dialogue choices do not matter.

Most of the answers are seemingly the same answer albeit with different wording. The only dialogue choices that do matter are the ones regarding quests. Even then it’s only a matter of accepting the quest or not.

1 Replay Levels, But Wait On Hard

Eventually, players will unlock the ability to tackle the same stages over again but on harder difficulties. At this point in the game, players may be itching for a real challenge. Egglia Rebirth overall is not that hard. However, if players jump into these new stages early enough, they will get smoked.

There are ways to survive the trials and gain a lot of experience points. The trick is that players have to avoid monsters and that can be almost impossible on some maps. Again, it’s probably best to avoid these tweaked levels early in the game. Grind instead on the normal difficulty levels.

Egglia Rebirthwas released on February 10, 2022, and is available on Switch.
